About the role
We are looking for a Recourse Lawyer to join our cross-Baltic team and lead Estonian recourse cases. This is a hands-on position with tasks ranging from litigation to recourse area development, that offers ample opportunities for professional growth.
What are you going to do?
- Handle the subrogation/recourse of paid claims
- Represent the company in court
- Outsource recourse cases to debt collection agencies or external lawyers if needed
- Train and consult colleagues on recourse topics, recoursable cases recognition, liability aspects, collecting and securing evidence, etc.
- Make sure relevant primary steps on subrogation/recourse have been done correctly
- Settle disagreements and ensure quality of customer and debtor service
- Continuously improve subrogation/recourse area
- Cooperate closely with other units and stakeholders, including product managers, claims handlers and investigators, communication department, sales, etc.
What do we expect from you?
- University degree in law
- 2+ years of experience in subrogation/recourse, debt collection or civil liability, including handling cases in court
- Ability to find and use needed legislation and court practice
- Good communication and negotiation skills, focus on quality customer service
- Good level of time management, self-leadership, and emotional resilience
- Proactivity, attention to detail, collaboration, fairness
- Fluent spoken and written Estonian and English language skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
