About the role

If Industrial is seeking a Reserving Actuary with a mathematical background to tackle challenges and help shape strategies for insuring the largest industrial clients in the Nordics. Each client brings a unique risk profile, requiring innovative reserving methodologies and close collaboration with key decision-makers and the underwriting team to ensure accurate and effective risk assessment.

You will be part of a supportive Nordic team of actuaries and analysts, working closely with the underwriting organization to deliver actionable insights. Beyond this, you will join the Performance Management and International group, which brings together experts in Financial and Business Controlling, Quality & Compliance, International Business Support, and If’s branch offices. Together we foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

What are you going to do?

  • Perform statistical claims reserving for selected industrial lines.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting organization to build pricing models and forecast claims costs for some of the more complicated risks, including risk-shared set-ups such as captives.
  • Present analyses and reserve-setting results to business area managers and other stakeholders, helping them make informed decisions.
  • Be an active part of the monthly book closing process with dedicated actuarial ownership for selected Industrial lines of business.

What do we expect from you?

Must have

  • Experience as an actuary or a solid academic background in mathematics, statistics, or a related field, with a curiosity to learn and grow.
  • Strong communication skills in English to work with colleagues from different countries.
  • Your analytical mindset and enthusiasm for collaboration make you a great fit for our dynamic team.
  • You thrive on presenting your work, engaging with inquisitive audiences, and tackling challenging questions.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in Python, SAS, and/or SQL.

  • Monthly salary: €2500 – €3300 gross if you are employed in Latvia; €3000 – €4300 gross if you are employed in Lithuania; €3500 – €4300 gross if you are employed in Estonia (Please note that the specific amount varies due to different employment taxation in the Baltic countries).
